Hypnotherapy Saved My Life

"I cut out pictures of skeletal-looking models from magazines and pinned them on my mirror for thinspiration."
Diagnosed with anorexia and bulimia at the age of 14, Mellissa Laycy, now 24, under-took hypnotherapy to cure her eating disorder. Now she has learnt to love her body and has even become a plus size model and an inspiration to other girls.

Naturally tall Mellissa was told often that she should be a model; at the age of 13 she visited a London talent agent excited to start her modelling career. Mellissa was measured 5ft 9, UK size 8 and got turned away as she needed to lose her "puppy fat".

Determined to pursue her dreams, Mellissa knew that the only way to be accepted into the business was to lose weight. Cutting down her daily calorie intake to a maximum of 600, she would track her weight in a personal notebook. Learning "tricks" on her way Mellissa would leave empty crumbs on a plate by the toaster, feeding the dog under the table "Ill eat dinner in my room, I told Mum, before flushing it down the loo."

Mellissa then went onto obsessing over exercise in order to lose the weight quicker. This included a morning run before going to school - combined with laps around the football pitch during her lunchtime. "You’re losing weight, my friends remarked giving me a rush of satisfaction."

As time passed Mellissa was noticing not only physical changes to her body. Her bones started to ache when she lay down and prevented her from sleeping. The compliments stopped from her friends as her school uniform hung off her skinny frame; she became that weak that she would pass out on the way to class. "With no insulation I was permanently cold and downy hair grew on my face. My periods stopped. You are damaging yourself, Mum wept. But I didn't care. As long as I was losing weight... "

Eventually, at the age of 16 Mellissa's GP diagnosed her with anorexia nervosa; she was UK size 4 and weight 7st. Instead of focusing on getting better, Mellissa began comparing her body to the other patients. "They are all so thin, I thought, jealous. They must think I’m so fat."

Moving away from home to continue her drama course Mellissa found herself becoming homesick and began comfort eating. However due to her skinny frame and her eating disorder she would then vomit all of the food she ate back up, later to be diagnosed with bulimia. One day Mellissa knew it was time to stop when she was vomiting blood. She booked herself in with a hypnotherapist to help cure the eating disorder she had developed. After a few months of sessions Mellissa noticed a massive change in how she saw and reacted towards food: "I felt a physical shift inside me and I knew my eating disorders were a thing of the past. Food was no longer the enemy. I began enjoying cooking healthy meals and trying different tastes without being sick afterwards."

Mellissa is now a plus-sized model for Hughes; she has worked for Evans, been a cover girl on magazines and even appeared on Channel 4's show "How to Look Good Naked"
"My rejection from modelling agencies as a young teen nearly destroyed me. Now, a size 16 and weighing just under 12 stone I’m a successful model and couldn’t be happier."

As we all know weight loss is very common for a New Years Resolution. But how long can people keep it up? It not just the ordinary man or woman who cares about what they look and feel like; celebrities are constantly being caught eating fast food or putting on that extra pound.

Here are two examples of celebrities who have used hypnotherapy to lose weight:

Lily Allen.
"After the hypnotism, I want to go to the gym every day, otherwise I feel really bad. I just want to get more toned and healthy. I'm really good about everything at the moment - I've never been happier."

Orlando Bloom.
"I used to be really sporty and I just started eating chocolate and I just got a bit tubby."

Free worldwide online hypnotherapy session to help shed festive fat

It’s not uncommon to overindulge at Christmas, in fact it’s almost par for the course for most people.

But this year I'm giving you the chance to get help to start the New Year diet with greater conviction. I will be holding an online hypnosis session on January 4 to mark World Hypnosis Day, giving away some secrets behind the success of my Virtual Gastric Band.

Everyone over indulges, that is not a shocking revelation by any stretch of the imagination. And people always begin the New Year with great expectations and extreme commitment to making a positive change in their life. The problem is this usually lasts until the middle of January and things start to slip back to how they once were. The hypnotherapy I offer helps people the correct mind-set for losing weight and keeping it off.

The 30-minue long session will take place from 7pm GMT on Friday January 4th, where I will offer hints and tips for losing weight and making sure people can continue to stay slim and trim.

Ben Affleck has Hypnotherapy for His Unborn Child

After months of trying to hide his smoking habit Ben finally undertook hypnosis to quit his addiction.

It was the help of Affleck's family who helped push him into the quitting. Wife, Jennifer Garner was worried about their unborn child being exposed to second-hand smoke and children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel were getting sick of his nicotine habit; that they insisted that Ben would have to take the drastic steps to quitting once and for all.

Jennifer warned her husband, with a stern talk that he had to ditch the cigartettes before Christmas. As she was expecting family to join them from West Virginia and didn't want Ben to be "sneaking" oustide every 20 minutes to return smelling of smoke.

Ben finally got the message and knew it was time to quit the smoking for good. To do this he visited a hypnosist to help him quit for the second time.

Snooze Buddy Travels Across Seas.

Recently I gave my Snooze Buddy product to members of the P&O Ferries, to see if it'll help them with their sleeping problems. The quote below describes how y product was effective and really helped the members of staff finally get some sleep.

Snooze Buddy:
“We took Snooze Buddy on a trial basis for some of our staff. We focused on those people who work abnormal shifts or those whose living quarters are adjacent to some of the slightly noisier parts of our ships. The feedback was fantastic with the vast majority of people saying that they slept more soundly and for longer periods than would normally be the case. I tried the product myself and found myself drifting off to sleep within minutes. It is a very clever design and when you put it on it is barely noticeable. Sheila Granger’s hypnotic approach is unique, safe and very effective. I can recommend Snooze Buddy for anyone who has trouble sleeping.”
Clive Gossop, Head of Operations North Sea & Irish Sea at P&O Ferries

If you have problems with your sleeping, why not try my Snooze Buddy?
